Hyde Park

Tampa's traditional neighborhood with a twist.

Welcome to Hyde Park

Hyde Park is a one-of-a-kind neighborhood, rich in history and with 19th-century architecture. Over the several decades of its existence, those styles have evolved into various designs and sizes, incorporating anything from Revival and vernacular styles to prairie and bungalow.  The most historic landmarks, however, are the Hutchinson House (a Second Empire architectural design that was predominant around the last half of the 19th century) and the Anderson-Frank House (a Colonial Revival architectural design with elements of the Queen Anne style).

Rich history and architecture aside, Hyde Park is an excellent place to live. Not only is the weather hot in the summers and not too cold in the winters, but the community is alive with pedestrian activities and sightseeing.

Local Lifestyle

Hyde Park’s local lifestyle is one-of-a-kind and unique. Residents are full of life, walking the streets and gathering around the finest restaurants and shops in the area. Although many drive, the community is rich with trails, sidewalks, and outdoor activities that keep locals out and about.

Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

To start the day off or get that early afternoon boost, residents flock to Buddy Brew Coffee for the best coffee in the world. Not only is it sourced from the best coffee farmers around the globe, but they boast of it being 'artfully roasted' to perfection — and you can tell.

With the nice caffeine buzz keeping you on the move, you'll find that the most popular retail for boho-chic clothing and home decor is Anthropologie. Locals even flock to the shop for unique wedding attire.

When all is said and done, and it comes time to grab some food and a drink, most residents gather in two places: On Swann and Timpano. On Swann is best known for its open-concept kitchen, chic decor and atmosphere, and New American cuisine. Timpano is the epitome of fine dining when locals look for elegant Italian steakhouse cuisine, cozy booths, and the occasional live music.

Things to Do

There's plenty to take advantage of in Hyde Park, but the most notable things to do in the community include the Hyde Park Village Art Fair, Fresh Market at Hyde Park Village, Hyde Park Sunday Market, Cinebistro, and Gasparilla. The Hyde Park Village Art Fair offers one of the most exclusive experiences in the trendy downtown area, with plenty of fine art, brick courtyards, and a unique old-world setting.

The Fresh Market at Hyde Park Village is great for upscale grocery shopping in an old-world environment, and the Hyde Park Market is regarded as one of the best farmers' markets, open every first Sunday of the month. Meanwhile, locals gather at Cinebistro for high-end movie theater experiences and bistro food. However, Gasparilla is the best festival in the area for exciting celebrations of the rich Pirate History in Tampa Bay.
